Be a good neighbor

Wind and Solar energy have become fast-growing alternative energy resources. As new wind turbine generators, Solar project components, BESS (battery energy storage systems) and Transmission Line Structures are installed, they often pose a physical obstruction threat to existing microwave systems and broadcast stations. In addition, they can create Electronic Interfernce (EMI). If not identified early, these conflicts could result in very costly changes and even rejection of your project.

Many states and jurisdictions recognize the need for regulations addressing obstruction and EMI impacts to radio signal transmissions from energy generating, storage and transmission installations. As part of an environmental impact assessment, local planning authorities typically require project developers to ensure wind turbines, solar panels, BESS and transmission lines will not cause problems to existing communications.

Taking proactive steps to mitigate potential conflicts can reduce legal and regulatory/zoning problems and increase goodwill within the community—a good neighbor approach.
