Technical Liaison to the FCC

Comsearch has worked with the FCC for over a quarter of a century on a myriad of technical and regulatory issues. Because we know the structure, processes, and staff of the FCC, our customers rely on our consultants to represent them before the Commission.

Technical Support for FCC Filings

Comsearch can provide technical support in the preparation of filings with the FCC. We can also assist in the technical review and preparation of filed petitions, applications, comments, and proposals.

Monitor and Review Rules and Regulations

Comsearch's experienced consultants provide technical reviews and assessments of existing FCC (and ITU) rules and regulations and footnotes. We also review documentation pertaining to local governments and other telecommunications bodies.

Industry Standards Representation

Comsearch actively participates in industry groups and standards bodies. We work closely with many different government regulatory agencies both for our customers and on our own behalf. If you need a topic brought to the attention of one of the standards bodies, Comsearch's consultants can ensure that the topic receives the attention it deserves.

Comsearch was one of the founding members of the National Spectrum Managers Association (NSMA) in 1984. We helped craft industry recommendations for frequency coordination and spectrum management. Comsearch personnel remain active members of the NSMA, with various individuals serving as officers, on the board of directors, on various technical working groups, and as chairmen of these working groups.

Comsearch has been active in the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA). We provided critical input into the development of digital interference criteria in Bulletin 10F and TSB 86, "Criteria and Methodology to Assess Interference Between Systems in the Fixed Service and the Mobile-Satellite Service (Space-to-Earth) in 2 GHz Band," and we have been active in various working groups.

Industry Forums Participation and Representation

Comsearch is a member of CTIA, PCIA, NSMA, BOMA, WCA, IEEE, and the Society of Satellite Professionals, among others.

Comsearch's customers often engage our consultants to monitor industry activity, provide technical reviews, and represent their interests for them in various industry forums.

Expert Testimony

Our consultants have years of experience providing expert testimony regarding RF interference and radiation hazards. Comsearch personnel have prepared technical showings and reports for countless legal proceedings. We have provided expert testimony with regard to radio frequency issues on over 100 occasions in such jurisdictions as Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Michigan, Colorado and Massachusetts.

The FCC has recognized us for our expertise in spectrum management and RF interference issues.
