Network Backhaul Management & Optimization
Reduce Operating Costs. Increase Reliability. Meet Capacity Demands.

Comsearch has three decades of experience working with backhaul networks. Whatever the transmission mode, look to Comsearch for network engineers and regulatory experts to manage and optimize your backhaul requirements.

Evaluate and Optimize

Comsearch experts, working with your key network staff, will review your existing transport network to create an optimization plan that meets your unique backhaul requirements. We evaluate all transmission alternatives considering reliability, redundancy, security, and capacity requirements with a goal toward lowering overall operating expenses. We also evaluate your existing vendors and service providers and compare them with alternative providers and/or capital investment for internal network expansion. The optimization plan provides the identification of options for network changes and upgrades to improve reliability, meet capacity demands, and reduce operating costs.

Design and Implement

Using the optimization plan, Comsearch provides design and network management support to integrate leased lines, fiber, and wireless links into your growing network. This includes:

  • Analyzing alternative transport providers
  • Monitoring leased line costs
  • Evaluating ROI for wireless versus leased lines
  • Examining spectrum options (unlicensed, licensed, leased)
  • Determining appropriate network topologies (ring, star, tandem)
  • Planning capacity needs

On your behalf, we interface with equipment vendors and service providers to implement the most cost effective and technically sound solutions for your network.

Manage Wireless Backhaul

Should wireless prove to be a viable economic alternative or network enhancement for you, Comsearch is uniquely positioned to manage your wireless backhaul network. Our breadth of experience implementing cost-effective wireless solutions and our knowledge of wireless options available today, allow us to provide you with an unbiased, independent assessment of the different options and manage the implementation of cost-saving solutions.

For wireless systems, we work with existing and potential site locations and develop a topology to meet your interconnect requirements. Based on link range and capacity needs, we determine the optimum frequency band, and then design the links to satisfy overall reliability and connectivity requirements.

Whether you need area-licensed, exclusive-use spectrum to implement many links quickly, or individually licensed point-to-point links, Comsearch can provide the services needed to accomplish the task and the ongoing management to track and maintain the network. Our connections with spectrum holders for spectrum leasing, coupled with our frequency coordination and licensing expertise provide the many options desired to meet your unique network demands.

Manage the FCC Licensing Process

Comsearch prepares and files several thousand microwave applications each year, which means that our engineering, database, and regulatory experts have the experience to completely manage your FCC filing requirements. Our services range from verification of the technical information on your FCC license, to ongoing monitoring of filing deadlines and Antenna Structure Registration (ASR) changes, to performing necessary frequency coordination and filing license applications on your behalf.

Project Management

Whether your application is microwave, satellite, mobile, or in-building wireless, we provide full project management for all phases of communications system installation or just a specific portion as your needs dictate. Comsearch self-performs or subcontracts certified engineers and technicians to provide full turnkey services for equipment installation including radios, antennas, amplifiers, waveguide, and alternative power systems. Our project managers ensure that timeline and budgetary constraints are met, and use software tools to monitor and track progress. Problems are resolved before they affect the critical path to success.
