iQ·link®XG Version 9.1
Comprehensive Implementation of Adaptive Modulation (ADM)
The need for increased capacity to keep up with ever-growing demands for wireless data continues to drive innovation in wireless microwave.
Adaptive Modulation microwave radios can adjust the capacity and modulation to match the quality and performance of the radio channel. This offers maximum data throughput and spectral efficiency during periods of shallow fading and a robust channel with less data throughput during periods of deep fades.
The result of numerous discussions and meetings with major operators and equipment manufacturers, iQ·linkXG version 9.1 offers the most comprehensive functionality to support the design of microwave links with adaptive modulation radios including:
- Simple and flexible import of numerous Adaptive Modulation radios through the use of a standardized spreadsheet format.
- Highly customizable link designs with Voice/Data analysis (High Priority/Low Priority traffic).
- Option to report Outage/Unavailability statistics based on the specified Priority and Non-Priority traffic distribution.
- Full Consideration of:
- ADM Power Adjust
- ADM Power Boost
- Modulation Downshift offset
- Modulation Upshift offset
- Full implementation of ADM with Automatic Transmit Power Control (ATPC).
- Availability and Performance calculations for all modulations.
- Detailed interference analysis with the ability to automatically detect the worst-case modulation combination of interfering transmitter and victim receiver.
Re-Designed Profile Plot
- Added space diversity antennas, elevation angles between main and diversity antennas, and optimization and clearance calculations of diversity antenna heights.
- Added ability to specify single reflection areas and spherical earth reflection planes for use in anti-correlation.
- Added ability to show the reflection plane and reflection rays.
- Added display of reflection point details, including the antenna discrimination angles and antenna discrimination, reflection loss, reflection phase difference and relative RSL.
- Automatic antenna height calculation in anti-correlation chooses antenna heights below the main antenna.
- User Interface Improvements:
- Added ability to customize the line styles of the Fresnel zones and colors of the Fresnel zones and earth bulge lines.
- Modified the layout of the window, taking advantage of window docks for optimum work-flow and user customization.
- Added interactive antenna height spin-boxes, making it easier to tweak antenna heights.
