Comprehensive Services To Get You Up & Running

  Industry Solutions

Comsearch provides a variety of engineering services to help 3650 MHz licensees efficiently manage their spectrum usage and at the same time protect incumbent users in the band. 3650 MHz licensees must consider the impacts of locating a base station within close proximity to:

  • Other 3650 MHz broadband systems
  • Grandfathered earth stations
  • Adjacent-channel C-band earth stations
  • Adjacent-channel radar systems
  • Federal Radiolocation stations
Comsearch understands the complexity of analyzing and recommending solutions for shared spectrum usage. We have been coordinating licensed systems in shared bands for over 30 years. Let us use this experience to simplify the process for you. Our services include: For more information on the 3650 MHz band, click here. Feasibility Study for Grandfathered Co-channel and Adjacent-channel Satellite Earth Stations
FCC rules require an agreement with grandfathered co-channel earth station licensees when locating a WBS site within a 150 km protection zone around the earth station. The agreement must be negotiated in good faith with the earth station licensee, and typically requires an engineering analysis to demonstrate that harmful interference is not predicted.

Comsearch can perform a feasibility study to characterize the interference potential from proposed fixed transmitter locations into the grandfathered C-band earth stations and help determine the viability of a successful deployment. We provide technical information such as system data and interference calculations that can be used as technical support for requesting an agreement for operation. A similar analysis can be performed for adjacent channel earth stations that may be in close proximity to the planned deployment.

3650 MHz Quick Look
Our free search tool, 3650 MHz Quick Look, leverages the FCC's 3650 MHz ULS data in addition to our own databases to provide information about other users. The map interface allows you to quickly assess the spectrum environment in your area of interest in order to help avoid potential harmful interference. The tool leverages our many years of spectrum management and coordination expertise, knowledge of interference scenarios, and our up-to-date databases of detailed station information. We believe this will provide our customers an effective tool to help navigate around other users, shorten their planning process, and promote harmonious, shared-use of this unique band.

FCC Application Filing
Comsearch will prepare and submit an FCC Form 601 application for a nationwide license or for registration of your fixed stations. We will track the filing and serve as your FCC liaison to answer any questions and resolve potential issues.

Comsearch has a long history of working with the FCC on technical and regulatory issues. Our familiarity with the structure, processes, and staff of the Commission provides our customers with valuable support. Comsearch engineers interact daily with the FCC on our customers' behalf and manage thousands of FCC filings every year.

Monitoring Service for Nearby 3650 MHz Sites
As new 3650 MHz systems are deployed, licensees must make every effort to avoid harmful interference and cooperate with other WBS registered facilities. The FCC has left it to licensees to resolve interference problems themselves. Knowing when and where these new systems are deployed is the key to interference-free operation.

Comsearch monitors new systems on a daily basis that could potentially impact your existing system. We provide monthly reports of new activity and advise you on relevant interference issues.

Backhaul Design & Implementation
Backhaul is a critical component of your system. Comsearch staff has a unique knowledge in wireless network engineering and industry standards, and we have the regulatory expertise to engineer a reliable, scalable backhaul system. We have designed wireless backhaul systems for cellular carriers, alternative access carriers, utility companies, state and local government, and other private companies.

Our preliminary design services include topology analysis, capacity planning, line-of-sight feasibility and band selection. Once the preliminary design is completed and approved, we proceed with path surveys, a detailed path engineering study, frequency engineering and FCC licensing. Our services use the latest software and databases available to assist our customers in finding the most efficient options for their Wireless Backhaul networks.

Site Surveys & RF Measurements
A well-designed, interference-free network is necessary to attain the desired operation of your system. Whether you are experiencing interference or proactively designing a system to avoid interference, Comsearch can help. Our experienced field engineers detect interference sources and enhance site modeling by determining actual operational parameters. We troubleshoot by identifying and resolving the effects of Radio Frequency or Electromagnetic Interference, and we recommend solutions to allow your system to operate interference free.

Custom Mapping & Data Solutions
Comsearch provides data and mapping solutions for complete visualization of the telecommunications environment. We offer custom solutions such as population and demographics assessment to help determine site locations. We can also identify existing wireless operations to help identify the competitive landscape. We discuss your specific needs and work with you to deliver a unique solution.
