The Wireless Communications Association International's WCA 2008 will convene key players from government and industry to discuss "Capitalizing on the 4G Ecosystem" and feature cutting-edge discussion on broadband wireless applications. The convention's keynote speakers include Barry West, Sprint CTO and president of its XOHM business unit, who will discuss his company's upcoming XOHM mobile WiMAX launch of commercial service in the Metropolitan Washington, Baltimore and Chicago markets. Among other highlights, U.S. Rep. Rick Boucher (D-VA), the chairman of the House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality, will keynote a high-level panel on next steps for migrating the communications industry to green technology. The show will also feature a financial track led by top industry analyst firm Yankee Group, predictions on the 700 MHz auction results' implications for industry, the continued launch of advanced services in rural areas, and progress for more specialized needs, such as homeland security, E-911, disaster planning and tele-medicine activities.
