Comsearch Selected as Official Frequency Coordinator by CTIA
Engineering Firm Chosen to Provide Frequency Engineering Services For Wireless Internet and Mobile Data Show

ASHBURN, VA - Comsearch, an Allen Telecom company (NYSE: ALN), announced today that for the fifth consecutive year, it has been selected by the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) as their official frequency coordinator for the Association's CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Internet 2002 wireless data show. This year, the show will take place at the Sands Expo & Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada from October 16-18, 2002.

Comsearch has developed a spectrum management process that efficiently addresses the interference and frequency coordination issues for CTIA's temporary wireless demonstrations. With hundreds of exhibitors at the wireless data show, it's critical that the frequencies used for the wireless demonstrations do not interfere with each other and with other licensed wireless operations in the area. Comsearch, using its frequency analysis software, IQ·Clear® and engineering expertise, offers a full range of Spectrum Management services prior to and during the show, which includes coordination with PCS licensees in the area, interference analysis and frequency coordination with microwave incumbents, frequency coordination between exhibitors and on-site interference monitoring.

"This year we plan to take additional precautions to ensure the integrity of CTIA's exhibitor show case. Through pre-show measurements of the exhibit floor, we will mitigate interference from uncoordinated operations or equipment," said Chris Hardy, vice president of Spectrum Management Solutions at Comsearch. "Comsearch is committed to providing a clean, interference-free environment for the CTIA wireless data show."

Every year since its re-launch in 1998, the CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Internet show has tripled in size. This year's show will have over 250 exhibitors showcasing their cutting edge products geared to addressing wireless data in the enterprise and consumer arenas.

"Spectrum Management is a vital part of the overall success of CTIA's wireless data show," said Robert Mesirow, vice president of Conventions for CTIA. "Our exhibitors and attendees expect their CTIA show experience to be positive-the response from exhibitors regarding the frequency coordination services provided by Comsearch has continued to be exceptional. Because of their experience in this area, Comsearch has been the frequency coordinator of choice for CTIA."
