Comsearch Announces the Sale of iQ·link® To Orange UK
Premier Microwave Network Design Tool
Continues To Be First Choice Of Leading Global Operators
ASHBURN, VA - Comsearch, an Allen Telecom company (NYSE: ALN), is pleased to announce the licensing of its premier microwave path design software tool, iQ·link, to support Orange's mobile network in the United Kingdom.
iQ·link is the industry-leading spectrum allocation and engineering software tool that supports the end-to-end design of fixed microwave networks. The software is a proven and trusted engineering product for path clearance, reliability predictions, and fast, accurate interference analysis assessments, having been used to place more than 100,000 microwave links into production worldwide. Designed by microwave engineers for microwave engineers, iQ·link incorporates the ability to analyze per-exposure, cumulative and near-field effects to quickly and easily find channels that are free of conflicts, even in congested networks consisting of tens of thousands of microwave paths. Path outage algorithms utilize the latest ITU recommendations and iQ·link readily interfaces with other software packages to insure the integrity of critical data elements.
The Orange UK network is one of the largest and fastest growing digital networks in the United Kingdom, covering over 99% of the UK population with currently over 12 million users in the UK and 40 million worldwide. Orange is the only network to use both High Speed Circuit Switched Data and GPRS - providing a choice of data technologies that enable users to send and receive email, browse the internet or access office databases. Orange has operations and minority interests in 20 countries worldwide, including 13 countries within Europe. Orange also holds licensing agreements in Australia, Hong Kong, India and Israel.
"Comsearch is pleased to add Orange UK as a licensee of our iQ·link product," said Steve Meador, iQ·link's Product Manager. "iQ·link is the leading-edge software solution for the end-to-end design of both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint microwave networks and is the dominant product for these engineering applications worldwide. Comsearch continues to add enhanced functionality to iQ·link to insure it remains the world's leading software product for the design, engineering, and operation of fixed microwave networks."
