Comsearch Selected as Official Frequency Coordinator by CTIA
Engineering Firm Chosen to Provide Frequency Engineering Services
For Wireless Internet and Mobile Data Show
ASHBURN, VA - Comsearch, an Allen Telecom company (NYSE: ALN), announced today that for the fourth consecutive year, it has been selected by the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) as their official frequency coordinator for the Association's Wireless I.T. & Internet 2001 wireless data show. This year, the show will take place at the San Diego Convention Center from September 11-13.
Comsearch has developed a spectrum management process that efficiently addresses the interference and frequency coordination issues for CTIA's temporary wireless demonstrations. With hundreds of exhibitors at the wireless data show, it's critical that the frequencies used for the wireless demonstrations do not interfere with each other and with other licensed wireless operations in the area. Comsearch, using its frequency analysis software, IQ·Clear® and engineering expertise, offers a full range of Spectrum Management services prior to and during the show, which includes coordination with PCS licensees in the area, interference analysis and frequency coordination with microwave incumbents, frequency coordination between exhibitors and on-site interference monitoring.
"Comsearch applauds CTIA's proactive approach to spectrum management by establishing an effective frequency planning and coordination process that will ensure a quality show experience for exhibitors and attendees during this premier event," said Chris Hardy, vice president of Spectrum Management Solutions at Comsearch. "Comsearch is proud to be chosen as the official frequency coordinator to support CTIA in this endeavor."
Every year since its inception in 1998, CTIA's Wireless I.T. & Internet show has tripled in size. This year's show will have over 350 exhibitors showcasing their cutting edge products geared to help businesses stay competitive in today's global marketplace.
"Spectrum Management is a vital part of the overall success of CTIA's wireless data show," said Robert Mesirow, vice president of Conventions for CTIA. "The response from exhibitors during our past shows regarding the frequency coordination services provided by Comsearch has been very positive. Because of their experience in this area, it was a sound business decision on the part of CTIA to once again engage Comsearch as our official frequency coordinator."
