Comsearch Expands Its Web Based Services To Assess, Analyze and Assign Available MAS Frequencies
MAS Express is Second in Series of Online Interactive Products
ASHBURN, VA - Comsearch announced today that its new online Multiple Address Systems (MAS) interference-analysis and frequency-selection tool, MAS Express, is now available. The interactive system allows spectrum users of MAS to instantly determine what frequencies are available for a proposed MAS system, select the frequency and generate a supplemental showing which is required to obtain a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license.
Common MAS applications include utility company data collection, control of railroad crossing signals, monitoring and controlling valves along gas and water pipelines, collecting data from ATMs and lottery machines, and monitoring building security systems. Realizing spectrum is limited and demand is high in the heavily congested MAS spectrum bands, Comsearch developed MAS Express to streamline the frequency selection process. Users can simply enter a set of geographic coordinates, and in real time, display available MAS spectrum and the number of channels that can be assigned.
There are two components to the tool: Quick Look to determine if frequencies are available and Full Analysis to select specific frequencies and generate the FCC supplemental showing. MAS Express sorts available channels based on interference criteria to ensure operational compatibility with other systems and to satisfy the necessary FCC interference protection requirements. Users are able to access detailed information on every MAS system operating on the co-and adjacent-channel frequencies within the search radius. If MAS frequencies are available, they are assigned and the system creates the certification documentation required to obtain the necessary FCC license, or upon request, Comsearch will file the FCC Form 601 and any associated technical attachments on the user's behalf. Additionally, at the time of frequency selection and assignment, Comsearch's MAS Express system stores the technical information into their proprietary database, ensuring that assigned frequencies are considered in future analyses.
"For a quarter century, Comsearch has provided interference analysis, frequency coordination, FCC licensing services and frequency protection for thousands of Multiple Address Systems. With spectrum in the MAS bands becoming increasingly limited, MAS Express users will find our latest online licensing system an invaluable tool for quickly assessing and securing their spectrum," said Chris Hardy, vice president of Spectrum Management Solutions for Comsearch. "Future enhancements to MAS Express will include online batch filing of FCC Form 601 applications for MAS Express users."
