Comsearch Veteran Selected for New Corporate Role
Extensive Technical Background Will Aid in Growth and Development of New Business

RESTON, VA - Comsearch announced today that veteran employee Tim Hardy will be moving into the new role of Vice President, Industry Relations, effective immediately. In his new position, Mr. Hardy will be focusing his efforts on key account penetration, business development, sales, industry presentation and public relations.

Mr. Hardy began his career in spectrum management and analysis at MCI where he worked in the Spectrum Analysis & Frequency Planning (SAFP) group in the early 70s. While there, he built an extensive database of all microwave facilities in the U.S., at the same time engineering, designing and selecting interference-free frequencies for MCI's nationwide microwave network. His expertise in interference led him to assist in formulating the initial Bulletin 10 (EIA 10A) defining interference objectives for use in various microwave systems. Next, Mr. Hardy moved to Rockwell International in the Spectrum Analysis & Frequency Engineering (SAFE) group where he planned the Southern Pacific Communications Co. (SPCC) microwave system, used by GTE, and later Sprint, to build a nationwide state-of-the-art digital system.

Mr. Hardy began his career at Comsearch in 1977 as one of the three original and founding employees. Over the years, and after countless hours spent researching and pouring through thousands of FCC data files, he emerged as the database expert on all microwave and satellite facilities in the U.S. While working at Comsearch, Mr. Hardy developed methods and procedures for designing and coordinating frequencies for MCI's nationwide 4 GHz digital microwave system. He has held a variety of positions including Database Manager, Vice President, Terrestrial Microwave Services, and Vice President, Engineering Information Services. Mr. Hardy is one of the founding members of the National Spectrum Managers Association (NSMA) and as such, holds the title of "fellow" within the organization for his contributions to the spectrum management community. He is also a Senior Member of the National Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers, Inc. (NARTE) and is recognized within the wireless industry as an expert and historian of microwave and satellite networks in the United States.

"Over the years Tim has provided his expertise and talents in different capacities at Comsearch. His knowledge of microwave and satellite systems, coupled with his long-standing reputation within our industry substantiate Tim's capacity to take on this new role," said Douglass Hall, President of Comsearch. "His extensive technical background and knowledge of the FCC's regulatory mandates will enable Tim to play a major role in Comsearch's growth and development of new business, especially in the Data Services and Spectrum Management areas."
