Comsearch Releases New version of Its IQ·Link Software
IQ·Link v7.2 Provides Users Enhanced Functionality

RESTON, VA - Comsearch announced today the release of IQ·Link® v7.2, the latest version of its microwave link design software tool that now offers enhanced point-to-multipoint engineering functionality and improved display of GIS data within the Network View module.

Comsearch's IQ·Link has a proven track record within the industry as the leading spectrum allocation and frequency engineering software tool that supports the engineering and design of fixed microwave networks worldwide. The product is designed by microwave engineers, all of whom have unparalleled expertise in the link design of spectrum engineering of fixed network applications.

"We're excited about the growth of the UMTS and wireless local loop markets in Europe and the rest of the world," said Steve Meador, IQ·Link product manager at Comsearch. "We are listening to the needs of the engineers in these burgeoning markets to develop a product which suits their needs for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint path design and analysis."

IQ·Link v7.2 is compatible with Solaris® 2.6-2.7 and Oracle® v7.3.4. Features include:
Coverage Plot - Within the Network View module a color-coded plot of receive signal level will be displayed for selected hub sites. The user will have complete control over the color coding scales. With this utility, it will be possible to visualize locations around hub facilities where acceptable coverage can be found. This feature is available only with the point-to-multipoint module upgrade.

Selective Line-of-Sight Module - Enhancements to the existing line-of-sight module within IQ·Link will allow the user to perform an analysis for only specific sites around a selected location, rather than analyzing broad areas. Building vector data will also be considered in the Line-of-Sight module.

Network View Elevation Display Enhancement - Display settings for elevation coloring and shading detail, will be controlled through a user interface. This will give the user complete control over the level of terrain detail to be displayed in the Network View module.

3D Entry/Display/Calculation of Antenna Patterns - The current database interface for antenna patterns will be expanded to include the entry of elevation as well as horizontal plane antenna patterns. The design and interference analysis of links will also incorporate the use of 3D patterns.

Scheduling - all features are scheduled to be available in 2Q 2000
