Comsearch Named Official Spectrum Manager For WiMAX World USA 2007
WESTCHESTER, IL, August 29, 2007—The market leading radio spectrum management capabilities of Comsearch, an Andrew Corporation company, will be utilized September 25-27 in Chicago as it serves as official spectrum manager for the WiMAX World USA 2007 Conference and Expo.
Building upon its long history as spectrum manager of major industry events, Comsearch will provide services to help ensure that the radio frequencies used in demonstrations by exhibitors do not interfere with each other, or with other licensed frequencies in the area. This year's show promises the greatest challenges yet in terms of spectral management. WiMAX World 2007 is expected to feature the largest amount of spectral bandwidth ever requested by exhibitors in the show's history. Comsearch's spectrum management process can efficiently and successfully address the often complex interference and frequency coordination issues for WiMAX World's many temporary wireless demonstrations. Comsearch will coordinate with area licensees and federal government agencies, perform interference analysis and frequency coordination with microwave incumbents, coordinate frequency use between exhibitors, and monitor on-site signals for interference.
"We are very pleased to have Comsearch collaborating with us for the second year in a row to support the spectrum management needs for WiMAX World 2007," said Eliot Weinman, conference co-chair and president of Trendsmedia. "The number of WiMAX World exhibitors now exceeds 200, and makes it the largest WiMAX event ever produced. We trust Comsearch as a company with the depth of experience to manage the major spectrum issues encountered by a show our size. We expect a successful working relationship with Comsearch."
"We look forward to supporting WiMAX World 2007 and its large list of attendees and exhibitors," said Chris Hardy, vice president and general manager, Comsearch. "Through the years, Comsearch has grown to become the wireless industry's preferred vendor for frequency coordination and interference mitigation. We take this leadership role seriously, particularly for emerging wireless markets such as WiMAX. We will apply our vast technical knowledge to help ensure a quality show experience for all."
