Keeping the Wireless Peace at SUPERCOMM 2005—Comsearch Selected as Official Spectrum Manager
ORLAND PARK, IL, May 31, 2005—Comsearch, an Andrew Corporation company, has been selected as official spectrum manager for SUPERCOMM 2005 in Chicago next week, with the huge role of managing wireless signals generated by the hundreds of communications exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors using mobile phones and data devices.
"Much as air traffic controllers safely manage heavy traffic around the world's busiest airports, Comsearch's expertise in managing radio frequencies at large telecommunications events is required to minimize interference between wireless devices and provide a quality experience for our exhibitors and attendees," said A.J. Janosko of the Telecommunications Industry Association, sponsors of SUPERCOMM 2005 exhibition and conference, being held June 6–9 at Chicago's McCormick Place. "Exhibitors want to demonstrate products, not just show them, so Comsearch's proficiency in engineering complex frequency sharing plans and providing innovative spectrum management services will be invaluable."
Comsearch will oversee all wireless communications planning and usage prior to and during this huge telecommunications industry trade show, including coordination with wireless carriers serving the Chicago market, coordination between exhibitors, and on-site interference monitoring. With more than 600 exhibitors at SUPERCOMM 2005, it's critical that the frequencies used for the wireless demonstrations do not interfere with each other and with other licensed wireless operations in the area.
"As wireless usage among exhibitors and attendees continues to multiply, Comsearch's spectrum management experience enables the various communications devices and mobile networks to peacefully coexist during the week of the show," said Chris Hardy, vice president and general manager of Comsearch. "The increasingly complex wireless environment involving wireless demonstrations at the show, driven by growing numbers of new 3G technologies and unlicensed device demonstrations, requires a comprehensive spectrum management process in which Comsearch excels."
Comsearch's spectrum management process efficiently addresses the interference and frequency coordination issues for SUPERCOMM's temporary wireless demonstrations. Using its iQ·clear® interference analysis software and engineering expertise, Comsearch will offer a full range of spectrum management services to ensure that wireless communications contribute to a productive, trouble-free show.
