1977Comsearch was founded to address the frequency coordination needs of the developing microwave network companies (e.g., MCI Telecommunications).

1983Comsearch launches our Cellular Application Service, preparing applications for the top tier cellular markets. Comsearch also launches application preparation for several broadcast and media services including Low Power TV, MMDS, and FM.

1989Comsearch is purchased by Alliance Telecommunications Corporation and simultaneously merged with Spectrum Planning, Inc. of Dallas. This merger combines the spectrum management expertise of Comsearch with the mobile and wireless experience of Spectrum Planning.

1992Comsearch enters the PCS sharing and relocation market with industry-leading products and services to help new wireless entrants share spectrum with and ultimately relocate incumbent microwave systems. Comsearch is purchased by The Allen Group of Cleveland during their formation of the consortium of Telecommunications companies known as the Allen Telecom Group.

1997Comsearch launches our iQ·line of engineering software tools. This iQ·line includes iQ·link®, our microwave interconnect tool, and iQ·clear®, our spectrum sharing tool. Comsearch Named Spectrum Manager and Wireless Home Integrator for CTIA WIRELESS 1997.

2001Comsearch selected by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association (AHA) as their technical partner to perform frequency coordination services in the new Wireless Medical Telemetry Service (WMTS).

2003Andrew Corporation acquires Allen Telecom. The combined companies results in the number one global supplier of coaxial cables, RF power amplifiers, terrestrial microwave antennas, network geolocation solutions, and repeaters and in-building systems; and the number two global merchant provider of filters and base station antennas.

2005 Comsearch elected by FCC as a Database Manager for 71–95 GHz spectrum.

2006 Comsearch enters the AWS sharing and relocation market with industry-leading solutions and incumbent relocation services to facilitate spectrum sharing of the 1.7 and 2.1 GHz bands between new entrants and existing systems. Comsearch also announces collaboration with CTIA, The Wireless Association, in creation of the CTIA Costsharing Clearinghouse to administer cost-sharing in the AWS bands.

2007CommScope, Inc., acquires Andrew Corporation. CommScope is a world leader in infrastructure solutions for communication networks, structured cabling systems for business enterprise applications, manufacturer of coaxial cable for broadband cable television networks, and one of the leading North American providers of environmentally secure cabinets for DSL and FTTN applications.

2008Comsearch announces the formation of Comsearch Government Solutions, LLC to address the growing spectrum management and wireless communication solutions needs of the Federal sector.

2009Comsearch launches iQ·link®XG which represents the latest generation of the software, blending a modern cross-platform architecture with the mature, proven, feature-rich functionality that has resulted from supporting the industry for over 2 decades.

2011 Global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group acquires CommScope in January. CommScope stock ceased trading on the New York Stock Exchange. Comsearch selected by FCC as TV Bands Device Data Administrator.
